How we work

Editorial Promise

Revised October 15, 2026

These commitments apply to everything we publish on The Food Receipt.

Original recipes

Every recipe on the site is written by us. We don't reproduce text from historical or modern cookbooks.

Careful history

Our "a little history" notes share widely documented, general background about dishes. We avoid unverifiable claims, and we never present an invented story as a real family's history.

Modern, safe instructions

Recipes use US cups, ounces, gram weights where helpful, and Fahrenheit temperatures, and include current food safety guidance where it matters.

No health claims

We describe food as food. We don't claim any dish has health benefits.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, write to [email protected]. We'll investigate, correct the page and update its revision date.

Independence

Advertisers don't influence our content. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly marked.
